The problem

Port costs arrive as a surprise, and they're hard to check.

Scattered tariffs

Every port publishes its own schedule, often as a long PDF, in English or French, with its own rules for GT, length and time alongside.

Opaque proformas

Owners depend on the agent's estimate and rarely see which line comes from the official tariff and which is a service or a margin.

Slow answers

Comparing ports or planning a voyage means emails and waiting, when a first number would be enough to decide.

How it works

From vessel details to a sourced estimate in minutes.

  1. Describe the call

Port, vessel type, GT, length, time at berth or anchorage, cargo and services such as fresh water.

  2. Portéo applies the tariff

Each fee is calculated from the port authority's published schedule, with the tariff code and page shown next to it.

  3. Get a clear quote

Official fees, estimated fees and cargo dues are kept apart. Download it, share it, or ask for a local agent.

Who it's for

Why you can check it

Every number shows where it comes from.

Portéo is an estimating tool, not a port authority. We show our sources and our assumptions so you can verify the result yourself.

Official fees, cited
Tariff code, page and effective date on every official line.
Estimates kept separate
Agency and other unpublished fees are shown as ranges, never mixed with official charges.
Assumptions in plain words
When the tariff is ambiguous, the quote says what we assumed.
Measured against real invoices
We compare estimates with final disbursement accounts and publish ports only when they're close.
FAQ

Questions we hear.

Does Portéo replace my ship agent?

No. A licensed agent is still needed to handle the call. Portéo gives you an independent estimate so you can budget, compare and discuss the proforma with facts.

How accurate are the quotes?

Official fees follow the published tariff exactly. Unpublished fees are estimated as a range. Final charges are set by the port authority and service providers, so treat the result as a planning figure.

Which vessels can I quote?

General cargo, bulk carriers, tankers, RO-RO, fishing and supply vessels, passenger ships and yachts. Container handling and stevedoring are not covered yet.

I'm an agent. Can I work with you?

Yes. Agents can use Portéo to prepare quotes, and we're selecting partner agents in each port who help validate local fees and receive client requests. Book a call to talk about it.

What does it cost?

The early version is free while we validate it with owners and agents. Book a demo to hear about plans for regular users.
